New York City - A Unusual December

I know that one last spontaneous  trip was needed in 2015, so New York City was booked and left the following day. I had to visit the city since the weather was beyond unusually warm and I needed to make it more of a Fitcation.

First stop, Henry Hudson Hotel in Columbus Circle. This was the perfect location since wanted to be near Central Park and along the metro.

There is nothing like running around the Jackie Onassis Reservoir in the morning light. It is truly a sight to see and may visitors to the city never see how vast Central park is with in the concrete walls. Afterwards, it was time to do some holiday shopping and there is only one timeless place to go….Hello 5th Ave. During the holidays, these sidewalks are so festive that are truly an event to see. Did I mention that I ran into THE BILL CUNNINGHAM at Bergdorf Goodman’s!!!! (Thank you Netflix and Richard Press for the documentary)

Walking the city with all of the lights is so refreshing and empowering. These are the areas that only time can create and tradition is embraced. I hope that you stop for a moment, take a deep breath and just experience the magic.

The following day, it was off to Brooklyn to catch up with a long time friend at Shake Shack. Beyond delicious and grab a shake to go!!!! Check out the Shine for a personal solar-powered device! So cool.

Forget staying in your comfort zone, get out and explore the amazing world we live in!!!

Best,

Wally.

Book THAT trip and go - Philadelphia

While I am on the eve of confirming my next adventure (posted coming shortly), I just wanted to take a look back at my 48 hours in the city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Where I was able to enjoy great company, perfect weather and the best that the city has to offer.

Remember, book THAT trip and explore, get lost, and make memories!!!!

This trip to Philadelphia all sparked from a quick conversation about catching up with some good friends and never having the pleasure to visit this great city. Of course, you learn about Philadephia and how it has changed the US historical landscape; however, it is quite refreshing to see how the city thrives today with a respectable nod to the past.

With only 48 hours, I would be remiss not to thank my dear friends for their kind hospitality/guidance of how to make the most of my quick weekend trip.

First stop to grab some dinner/drinks was at Dock Street Brewing right in Cedar Park neighborhood.

With such a limited time to see the city, we had to start the next morning off quite early with grabbing coffee from Green Line Cafe while on our way to go watch Arsenal fútbol match downtown.

Then we were able to venture through the city, both old and new town to see the living history. Since the weather forecast was so favorable, we were able tour Independence Hall and the surrounding neighborhoods. I would suggest that you pick up your tour tickets early to reserve a time, then come back later in the day. I would highly recommend grabbing lunch at Jim's Steaks off of N. 62nd St, it was simply delicious.

Later in the day, I was fortunate enough to plan my trip at the same time that the Franklin Institute just opened their Vatican Splendors exhibit to showcase never before seen items from the Vatican. It was such a pleasure to view the exhibit and I would suggest that if you are visiting the city, plan this into your schedule (open now until Feb 15 2016).

For dinner - GO TO GUSTO PIZZA off of S 22nd St.---- you will not be disappointed (suggestion - basil pesto pizza)

This was a great trip to Philadelphia. It is incredible to imagine how many important events and people have called Philadelphia home over the years. Remember to take those "one day" trips and you will not be disappointed with how much you personally grow

Kristin Newman's Book: Summer Must Read

Recently, I stumbled upon Kristin Newman's What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding: A Memoir at my local bookstore and I could not put it down. It was such a joy to read and each chapter of "vacationship" was even more interesting than the previous one.

The captivating part of the book was the sheer honestly that Kristin wrote with and the youthfulness of how to approach each situation she fell into. It doesn't matter what stage you are in live, there are several chapters for each person to relate to.

With finishing her book in a day and a half, you have a mindset of letting go of the "I wish i would haves..." and think of "Today I am going to..." Sure, you are going to have moments of reflection; however, embrace them and enjoy life's moments.

Dare to be inspired to simply live.

Hello Spring

Welcome to the beginning of spring!!!

These are special times that you just need to take a moment and capture. Take a walk, Ride a bike and simply enjoy the environment around you. Remember those little road trips that you wanted to take in the depths of winter and festivals notes that you tore from old magazines. Find. Sort. Conquer.

Make the days that you have with this amazing weather fulfilling and full of spontaneity.

Holiday Must Have -Kiehl's Body Butter

Recently, I purchased some Kiehl's products to begin to take care of my body with simple small steps. Having already been a proponent for their Facial Fuel, I knew that the Creme de Corps Body Butter is going to be another must have.

After using their Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter for a few weeks, my skin feels healthier and looks great.

Definitely give them a try with any product that you are looking for. Best Wishes.

Holiday in Brazil

As my next holiday trip is quickly approaching, I would like to take this moment to look back at my time visiting Rio de Janeiro and Buzios. From the strategic chaos of the city to the serene beaches of magical town. It is easy to forget to cherish the moments of just truly living, outside of the digital world.

During my entire stay Hotel Marina All Suites in Leblon, the staff was just as I imagined. Kind, knowledgable with a sense of true life.

The second portion of the trip brought me to Buzios (Trip Advisor -Certificate of Excellence 2014) and the picturesque beaches. The amazing staff knew great locations to visit and orchestrated an unforgettable surprise birthday celebration. During my stay in Brazil, the one word that stayed with me to this day was texture. From the art, to the buildings and the people, this word truly encompasses the wide range of life in Brazil.

Look for more news on my holiday trip this year and make sure that you keep in touch with where this adventure takes me.

Such a great day at the Saint Clements Castle in Portland, CT for the wedding of a great friend. It is truly a must visit location set along the river. Here is glimpse into the big day.

Thank you Elizabeth from Bonobos NYC for the suit/shirt combination. It fits exactly how I had envisioned.

I Lived - We only get one life

Hello. Wally here.

There are moments where we get caught up with so much noise that we never listen. This is the beginning of my journey of cherishing those moments and working toward my dream of becoming an international model.

I wanted to share these moments and the joy that I experience in the world. An eclectic mixture of my travels, fashion and the food that I encounter along the way.

Life's for Sharing....we only get one life.
